PBS Information Day: First Appearance as itesys
This year, our German colleagues attended the PBS Software GmbH Info Day not as nexQuent, but for the first time under the itesys name.
As always, PBS delivered a well-organized program full of engaging presentations, all set in a pleasant atmosphere with excellent hospitality. As a long-standing PBS partner, we’re always happy to see familiar faces—both among the PBS team and many of our customers who already successfully use PBS products.
Successful Legacy System Decommissioning with PBS NAA
One of the most in-demand topics this year was the system decommissioning solution PBS Nearline Analytic Archive (NAA). Nicole Nieder from our Archiving Team presented a successful project together with our customer, the VOSS Group, as part of an S/4HANA migration.
Since the customer transferred only a limited amount of data from the old ERP system to the new S/4 system, preserving historical data became essential. As clearly demonstrated in the presentation by Frank Hachenberg from VOSS, PBS NAA offers an ideal solution: it enables easy access to legacy data through the new S/4 system and allows users to work via familiar interfaces. Its short project runtime and user-friendly handling make it a highly attractive option.
The high number of conversations our team had throughout the day around this topic shows just how important it is to plan ahead when it comes to the future of legacy systems.
PBS Innovations and Joint Success with Savento Tower
In addition to our own presentation, PBS shared updates on its products—such as the expanded ability to access archive data through Fiori apps, a feature not available in the standard SAP environment.
The relevance of data archiving—especially during the transition to S/4HANA—was emphasized repeatedly. Our own product, Savento Tower, was also featured in several talks as a powerful tool for automating data archiving processes.
A particular highlight for us was the report by PBS Software Americas, which shared how, with the help of Savento Tower, a major pharmaceutical customer was able to save over 1,000 working hours by archiving across numerous objects and organizational units. We’re proud that our partnership with PBS continues to deliver such outstanding results.
