SolMan
The term SolMan is an abbreviation for SAP Solution Manager. This is a platform that is used for application lifecycle management. The system includes the support and development of an application software.
What is the SolMan?
With a SolMan, it is no longer necessary for all system management tasks to be carried out by an administrator. Many tasks such as error and problem solving, project control and change management are supported by the system. Due to the integrated reporting and monitoring functions, the effort required for SAP operation is greatly reduced. This has the advantage that less time has to be scheduled for IT and thus more free space is available for other business processes.
Extensive field of application
With the help of central application management, SolMan can be used to link different SAP systems with each other. Thanks to a process-oriented implementation concept and the comprehensive information, a business blueprint, for example, can be created within a very short time. The SolMan offers the advantage that an efficient management of the most diverse projects is possible. Even cross-component areas can be better monitored with one implementation.
Combination of different SAP systems
The SolMan platform supports and manages not only SAP systems, but also third-party systems. For optimal use of the SAP Solution Manager, many different tools are available for central monitoring. Application management is ensured in Solution Manager via the Fiori Launchpad.
Change Control Management
All changes to the configuration of the IT solutions are logged in the Change Request Management. The system includes the implementation of any changes, a subsequent analysis and the approval process for the change requests. This means that all changes can be tracked at any time, even at a later date. With the help of Test Management, tests can be prepared and carried out more quickly. They are provided with a central access point of the complete system landscape. All test results are stored centrally. In addition, cross-component tests are also optimally supported.
