What is a SAP Sandbox System

The sandbox system refers to isolated areas within a technical system whose processes have no feedback to other areas of the same system. The sandbox system can be used either in the test phase of a technical product or in the finished product itself. In the test phase, the sandbox system has the benefit that measures planned within the isolated system can be checked without causing damage to the overall system if they fail.

For example, during a feasibility phase, all functions on, for example, an SAP S/4HANA test system, such as Fiori, Web Services, Business Functions, and many more, can be put through their paces and tried out in the shortest possible time. A quickly available test system can help to keep to a specified schedule in the feasibility phase and save costs in the process.
